Have a Canadian Visa
Have Covid Travel Insurance with an insured value of not less than US$20.00 which covers the handling of COVID-19.
Full dose vaccination minimum 15 days before departure.
Have a valid international certificate for complete vaccination against COVID-19 with the use of an approved vaccine.
The certificate must be in English, French or accompanied by a certified English or French translation.
The vaccines accepted are: AstraZeneca (Covishield), AstraZeneca (SK Bioscience), AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covaxin, Covovax, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax), Nuvaxovid (Novavax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm or Sinovac. Combination vaccines are accepted.
Tourists who are not vaccinated or who have not been fully vaccinated must show a negative PCR test, maximum 3×24 hours or negative antigen test maximum 24 hours before departure
Tourists who have recently recovered from COVID-19 are exempt from testing requirements and can provide evidence of a positive molecular test result, issued at least 10 and not more than 180 days prior to arrival.
Downloading the ‘ArriveCAN’ app
Upload proof of vaccination, negative test results, previous recovery, contact information, and quarantine plans through the ‘ArriveCAN’ application at least 3×24 hours before arrival.
Additional Entry Terms to Canada
In addition to the above requirements, Canada also applies several additional requirements to enter Canada, namely:
Pre-admission tests are no longer required for fully vaccinated travelers. More info.
Unvaccinated travelers are required to self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival at their own residence or accommodation.
Those who test negative on the 8th day will not have their quarantine extended. Travelers who test positive will be asked to isolate an additional 10 days.
Tourists who are not vaccinated for special reasons are required to provide evidence of a negative PCR, NAT, NAAT or RT-LAMP test result, taken within 72 hours before departure.
Alternatively, professionally provided proof of negative antigen test results, taken the day before departure.
Unvaccinated travelers will be provided with 2 swab kits upon arrival, which must be collected within 24 hours of arrival and on day 8 of the quarantine period respectively.
The test can be completed by a virtual appointment or an in-person appointment with the test provider.
